This tour proposes a dialogue between art, urbanism and community experience to critically think about ways of inhabiting peripheral contexts through adaptations and interventions made by their inhabitants in urban space, such as stairs, pathways and informal alleyways, which seek to manifest a place in the city despite exclusion from official planning.

We will walk through Comuna 13, one of the areas that has inspired the work of Juan Fernando Herrán, showing how the right to the city is exercised through the daily effort to access it.

Luis Fernando Álvarez Ramirez “El Aka“: Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad de Antioquia and master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Studies from the Universidad Eafit. He works as a performance artist, teacher, community leader, farmer at Agroarte Colombia and agrarian hip hop singer.
