The MAMM Library opens its doors: a new space for reading, research, and art in Medellín

The MAMM Library, a space specializing in contemporary art and institutional memory, offers free admission. It is open to the public with bibliographic collections, documentary archives, and consultation services for students, researchers, and art lovers.

• Free access to books, catalogs, magazines, and audiovisual materials specializing in modern and contemporary art.
• Open Monday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; closed on Sundays and holidays.
• Archive with historical documentary collections and guidance services for consultation and study processes.

The MAMM Library, located at the headquarters of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín in Ciudad del Río, officially opened its doors as a space dedicated to study, reading, and research on modern and contemporary artistic practices. Designed for the academic community, students, neighbors, and visitors, this library provides access to a specialized collection that includes books, catalogs, magazines, institutional publications, and audiovisual materials related to exhibitions, curatorships, and artists.

In addition to its bibliographic collection, the MAMM Library has an archive comprising 19 documentary collections containing valuable sources on the development of local art from the museum’s founding in 1978 to the present day. These collections include those related to art salons, video art biennials, and emblematic MAMM projects, making it a key resource for researchers and creators.

Services

Visitors can enjoy on-site consultation services, access to databases, and personalized guidance in searching for reading and research materials. Exclusive services are also offered to members of the Amigos MAMM program, such as book loans and use of a meeting room by appointment. The library entrance is located on Carrera 44, and its weekly hours allow for a variety of visiting options.
