About the exhibitions
We are inhabited by birds and mountains.
The exhibition establishes a dialogue between works from the MAMM collection and the practices of contemporary artists from the region, taking the concept of body-territory as its starting point. The curatorial proposal stems from Débora Arango’s work, Mountains, in which the relationship between the nude female body and the mountains of Medellín resonates deeply.
This exhibition addresses food from its spiritual, environmental-territorial, more-than-human, cultural, and political dimensions. Cross-cutting issues such as migration—both voluntary and forced—, rootedness or uprooting from the land, interspecies collaborations in food production, and eating and preparing food as part of political processes of resistance, activism, and collective support, help to weave together this exhibition, which understands that we create worlds through food.
This sound installation, part of artist Gemma Luz Bosch’s project, offers a listening experience of that which usually remains silent: the matter of the earth. When dry clay comes into contact with water, the air trapped inside seeks to escape. This minimal gesture—bubbling, breathing, almost imperceptible clicks—reveals a soundscape that speaks of rivers, mountains, sedimentation, and the deep memories of the land.
On Thursday, March 26, from 11 a.m., you can visit the three exhibitions with free admission and learn about the questions and conversations they raise.
