The Quinteto Nacional de Metales is an institutional initiative of the Banda Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, conceived with the goal of strengthening the study and practice of chamber music within the ensemble. This format allows its members to deepen the development of technical and expressive skills while enriching the artistic and pedagogical reach of the group.
Its interpretive versatility and the breadth of its repertoire, ranging from academic music to contemporary adaptations, make the Quintet a dynamic ensemble capable of adapting to different stage contexts and audiences. This characteristic positions it as a strategic component within the artistic outreach and extension projects of the Banda Sinfónica Nacional.
The Quintet is composed of the following distinguished musicians:
Trumpets: Francisco Andrés Romero Urbano and Nelson Sneider Silva Lizarazo
French Horn: Gustavo Adolfo Pinilla Uribe
Trombone: Juan Camilo León Ríos
Tuba: Jimmy Meza Pantoja
The concert taking place as part of the International Museum Day celebration features a repertoire that crosses diverse geographic, temporal, and stylistic boundaries, blending the popular and the academic, the contemporary and the classical.
An activity of the Audience Development strategy of the Secretaría de Cultura Ciudadana of the Alcaldía de Medellín.
