Synopsis: Of Ana Rosa, my paternal grandmother, I only knew that she was a pianist and that she was lobotomized in the 1950s. Of her, I only have a photo from an identity card. I wanted to know who Ana Rosa was and understand why they performed that brutal act on her. Why the majority of lobotomies in the world were performed on us, women. Ana Rosa is a journey into the history of psychiatry.
After the screening, a conversation will take place with the film’s director, Catalina Villar, and Lucía González, former peace commissioner.
