The archive is a form of memory, a compilation of events that frame the course of our present; despite this, what would happen if the past were changed, fictionalized, or deformed? What mutations can be made to official archives and how could these new narratives circulate?
The workshop Archivo aberrante is an invitation to play with heritage archives (photographs, plans, and documents) from the Biblioteca Publica Piloto, the Archivo de Medellin, and our Study Room; approaching the appropriation of heritage through graphic intervention to construct new narratives that evoke the past, question the present, and serve to envision the future. Through analog and digital collage, photography, and experimentation with supports, we will approach the fanzine and the artist’s book as publication formats to create other stories outside the prevailing logic, enabling the search for fictions and the silent contemplation of remote time.
