This new book offers a deep and revealing look at who Débora Arango was, one of Colombia’s most daring and visionary artists. Drawing on archives, interviews, press clippings, and a detailed analysis of her work, the author reconstructs the key episodes of her life, framed within the major social and political changes of the country that the painter courageously portrayed.
With an agile narrative style close to that of a detective chronicle, the book invites readers to journey through the life and legacy of Débora Arango, exploring the connections between her art, her time, and her nonconformist spirit.
The launch will feature a conversation between the author Víctor Cabezas Albán and the writer and cultural promoter Ana Piedad Jaramillo, who will discuss the importance of this fundamental figure in Colombian art and the relevance of her work today.
