This conference recounts the vicissitudes and difficulties of the author dealing with the anguish and anxiety caused by environmental problems in a considerable portion of the current population, including himself. Juan Camilo illustrates the new pandemic of adverse psychological responses that has begun to be identified in people around the world. People are worried, and with good reason. Environmental problems are increasingly evident and their consequences on people’s psyche have alarmed mental health scientists. Recognize the symptoms and learn how to deal with them. Juan Camilo will illustrate and show you how to turn anxiety into activism and action.
About Juan Camilo Jaramillo
Juan Camilo Jaramillo is a marine biologist from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and holds a Master’s degree in Marine Affairs and Policy from the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Miami. An expert in microalgae, he worked for many years cultivating these small microorganisms at the University of Miami for biotechnological research. His current academic focus is the convergence of environmental crises and climate change. He serves as a professor of Environmental Conflicts at the Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano and as a professor of Climate, Landscape and Biosphere at the Boston Architectural College in Boston, USA. He is a lecturer on these topics as well as an emerging artist and experimenter with ultraviolet light-sensitive pigments.
