Dioba
Adriana Rojas Espitia / 2024 / Colombia / 83 min.
Synopsis: Dioba is an Indigenous woman who has lost her roots. She is 63 years old, lives alone in a humble rural dwelling located within a forest. She spends her days between her house and the forest. She sustains herself, in part, from what she finds on the daily walks she takes along forest paths, from which she collects seeds and plants. Dioba is a reclusive, introspective person. She lives obsessed with a photo she has hanging in her room; the photo of an Indigenous girl on her First Communion day. The day comes when she will have to battle her delusions, relive them, expel them. This may or may not help her to reconnect with herself, with her essence, with her roots.
After the screening, the director of the film, Adriana Rojas, will converse with Marta Hincapie, filmmaker and educator
