Synopsis: El Titan is a documentary based on a compilation of archival material that traces the legacy left by Elkin Ramirez, the most important exponent of national rock. Elkin led Kraken for 32 years — his band, his family, his life, the beacon of heavy metal in Colombia. Kraken’s final album was recorded while Elkin battled a brain tumor that reduced his mobility and seemed to distance him from music. The sessions of the final vocal recordings and a life dedicated to the courage of pursuing rock dreams are told through previously unreleased archival material. Elkin’s work influenced young people with a message of freedom and personal struggle that has moved three generations: “You live once to be eternally free!”
After the screening, a conversation will take place with Alexander Giraldo, director; Andres Ramirez, creative director of Kraken; along with Rafael Gonzalez Toro, journalist and writer.
