In the Gallery with Emiliano Valdés for the exhibition Ofrenda

Guided tour of the exhibition Tania Candiani. Ofrenda

En Sala con is a space designed to delve deeper into the curatorial vision of the Museum’s exhibitions, allowing direct interaction with artists and curators. It is a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the motivations and contexts behind each show.

In this edition, we invite you to explore the exhibition Ofrenda by Mexican artist Tania Candiani, in a specialized tour that will take place before its closing on Sunday, September 1. Emiliano Valdes, Chief Curator of the Museum, will join us to discuss the ideas and motivations that brought this work to life.

About the exhibition

This is the first large-scale exhibition by Mexican artist Tania Candiani in Colombia and brings together a series of works centered on sound, artisanal processes, and rivers, which speak of different latitudes but also, and above all, of Medellin. Some of her works lead along paths that fuse the Earth with its human and non-human inhabitants, bringing them closer together, and also question the meaning that each person gives to their brief time on this planet. Loosely structured around Preludio cuantico, a two-channel octophonic video that brings together mystical, scientific, and aesthetic visions of the universe, Ofrenda proposes – through sound and matter – a series of reflections on what is primordial, both in the audible and the tangible.
