Open Doors: Engaging Audiences

Open Doors: Engaging Audiences is an event that seeks to connect citizens with the creative and cultural offerings of select theaters and museums through audience development experiences and artistic and cultural awareness.

Aimed at cultural and community leaders, educators, students, cultural and community managers, business owners, and other key stakeholders in the city’s cultural and artistic sphere.

Connecting audiences with a space for interaction and learning through the relationship between art and the preservation of memory.

  • Block 1: experiential characterization activity about key figures in the life of Maestro Pedro Nel Gómez.
  • Block 2: exploration of the mausoleums and memory elements at the Cementerio Museo de San Pedro.
  • Block 3: paper architecture and miniature memories workshop.
  • Block 1: theatrical sketch accompanied by a short conversation with the artists about the performing arts and their transformative power.
  • Block 2: educational concert on the influence of classical music on more popular genres, “Salsa and rock in a classical key.”
  • Panel discussion on the role of museums in biodiversity conservation.
  • Experiential botanical observation activity.
  • The audience as protagonist: through an artistic activity, participants will create a painting representing a proposal or action for biodiversity conservation.

We will create a fanzine-poster that will become a travel journal to be filled in during each person’s visits to the city’s museums. This journal is a roadmap that will include questions, invitations, games, and engaging activities to reflect on, internalize, and enjoy our personal experience in museums.
