We are excited to invite the queer community of our city for a blind date through the exhibition La buena vida. Obras de la colección del Banco de la República.
Works of art have a seductive quality that captures our attention without being mediated by the intellect; something deeply intuitive that connects us sensorially with the creator, the creation, and the world. During this tour, we will interact with other people and with the works of art with the sole intention of enriching our experience and allowing ourselves to be affected by the presence of the other.
If you are part of a sexual or gender dissidence, we invite you to join this experience to collectively explore the works of artists who have challenged norms and celebrated diversity in art. This will be a unique gathering to learn, enjoy, and connect with lovers of contemporary art.
About the exhibition
This exhibition brings together a hundred works from one of the most comprehensive collections of Colombian art and represents one of the few times this collection has been presented outside the network of cultural centers of Colombia’s central bank. La buena vida is composed of some of the most significant works of Colombian art from the last seventy years, which speak about what has been important in the country in terms of individual and collective life choices. It is an invitation to think about how the actions we carry out during our brief time in this world are consistent with ourselves, with others, and with the planet.
