Have you ever wondered what it would be like to experience the world again from smaller shoes? In our next reading in the galleries, we will have the opportunity to become children again and, together with the little ones in our family, step into the shoes of women artists who will guide us through their visions of the world. Join us to read a story and lose ourselves in the worlds that will open before us.
About the exhibition
Musa. Perspectivas femeninas en las Colecciones del MAMM y MAC Panama is an exhibition that brings together works from the collections of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Panama, seeking to make visible the works of women artists who have historically had less prominence than their male counterparts. The exhibition takes its title from Musa, a video work by artist Minia Biabiany (Guadeloupe, 1988), which in turn takes the scientific name of the banana plant: musa paradisiaca. Common in the tropical latitudes of the Americas and Asia, its flower is used for medicinal purposes related to uterine ailments, while also being a prominent fruit in extractivist processes in the Americas.
