About Correspondences
This project by Soundwalk Collective & Patti Smith centers on eight unique pieces that invert the relationship between sound and image. Sound came first, and only then was the image found to tell the story of the music, visually edited for each soundtrack. From a collaboration with TBA21-Academy exploring the destructive impact of seismic air cannons and human interventions in the oceans, to the resilience of nature after the Chernobyl disaster, to the decentralized societies imagined by Peter Kropotkin and the desolate landscapes of Pasolini’s last night: the pieces presented become audiovisual journeys that invite reflection.
