U2, a band renowned for its powerful and energetic live shows
U2 is an Irish alternative rock band formed in 1976. Made up of Bono on vocals, The Edge on guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, Adam Clayton on bass, and Larry Mullen Jr. on drums. Their sound begins with post-punk roots and subsequently incorporates elements of other genres such as classic rock, experimental music, and electronica, generating very interesting and current musical atmospheres; in addition to lyrics that address spiritual, social, and political themes.
They are a band renowned for their powerful and energetic live shows, which include innovative stages and an impressive production. They have conducted highly successful tours around the world, becoming not only one of the highest-grossing bands of all time, but also one of the most important and representative in the history of rock.
About the Fundacion Uno Mas Uno and its program Musica para ver
Since its creation in 2003, the Fundacion Uno Mas Uno has had as its vital purpose expanding opportunities for access to music, knowledge, recreation, culture, and art for children and young people with limited vision or blindness; in this way, we seek to ensure that this population achieves full inclusion within society.
In 2014, the Foundation set out to develop a program to provide high-quality music education at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels for children and young people with limited vision or blindness. Musica para ver is the Foundation’s central program, and from there, other projects have been opened to complement the education of these children and young people, raise funds, and also circulate and showcase the processes through different shows such as Tribute Concerts.
These concerts take place at different venues in the city and have become a cultural reference in Medellin. Each one includes an experiential moment where students from Musica para Ver participate with a showcase of their progress. Additionally, an activation is carried out, such as blindfolding the audience or managing lights and darkness, allowing attendees to experience listening to live music without the aid of sight, just as the entire experience of the world is for people with visual disabilities. Over these 9 years, more than 20 concerts have been held where around 30,000 people have had the opportunity to confront the importance of the sense of sight in daily life.
Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference and enjoy a unique musical experience while supporting the cause of the Fundacion Uno Mas Uno.
