A filmmaker defining the pulse of his generation

Born in Montreal in 1989, Xavier Dolan has directed eight feature films that have been awarded at the most important film festivals in the world. His bold vision and exploration of themes such as family relationships, identity, and queer youth have established him as one of the most influential directors of his generation.

During this special visit to the MAMM, the audience will be able to enjoy two of his most representative films:

  • ‘Matthias y Maxime’ (2019) – A deep exploration of love, friendship, and identity, following the story of two friends who begin to question their feelings after a kiss filmed for a short film. This film will have a special screening on Saturday, March 29, at 5:00 p.m., followed by a conversation between Xavier Dolan and film director Laura Mora. Tickets sold out.

An event for Medellín’s film community

Thanks to the collaboration between the MAMM and #FICCI64, this visit represents a unique opportunity for Medellín’s audience to engage with Dolan’s work and learn firsthand about his creative processes. With this initiative, the MAMM continues to consolidate itself as a fundamental space for independent cinema and critical thinking in the city, generating dialogues with some of the most influential creators on the global film scene.
