Let’s celebrate International Museum Day together this May 18
A free admission day to strengthen the connection with art
International Museum Day is an event coordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) that takes place every year on May 18. This celebration allows us to reflect on the role these cultural institutions play in society to foster cultural exchange, as well as the development of mutual understanding, collaboration, and peace among peoples, according to ICOM’s own declaration.
During this day, museums around the world schedule activities and events to invite their audiences to connect with art and discover new artistic proposals. Last year, 37,000 museums took part in the event across 158 countries and territories.
International Museum Day 2023 will focus on sustainability and well-being, as an invitation to continue building bonds of trust with neighboring communities and to highlight the contribution these cultural institutions make in strengthening inclusion and improving mental health. In connection with this intention, our programming will emphasize this theme. We invite you to explore it:
