How does what we eat or stop eating affect all spheres of human habitation?
Performative gastronomy proposes to address – in an interdisciplinary way – botany, chemistry, economics, and the senses; inviting us to understand the ways in which we daily consume history and, at the same time, build forms of taste and distaste, of pleasure or recession. Our tastes have been domesticated!
The monotony of recipes and the imposition of certain foods lead us to a feeling of an insipid and ordered palate. Now then, how do we break this domestication? During this workshop, we will play at rediscovering and accessing other recipes that fall outside the established, while we immerse ourselves in preparations connected with the actions of setting out and eating food.
We invite you this Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. to explore with our MAMM Mediators those foods that have often been marginalized from our kitchens and, consequently, from our palates, while we discuss ancestral knowledge about food and its preparations.
