Guided tour with curator Esteban Gutiérrez

We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition Invocando los fantasmas de la modernidad, led by one of its curators, Esteban Gutiérrez.

This group exhibition examines how digital technologies can open new possibilities for the presentation of cultural heritage and art in a museographic context. Based on digital models of two influential European exhibitions — Les Immatériaux (1985, Centre Pompidou, Paris) and Iconoclash (2002, ZKM | Karlsruhe, Germany) —, the exhibition proposes a critical reflection on modernity and its narratives, exploring their echoes in contemporaneity.

At the core of the exhibition, the digital models reinterpret the discourses of these exhibitions through the potential of current computing structures, giving rise to new analytical routes on postmodernism, non-modernity, and extra-modernity.

During the tour, Esteban Gutiérrez will share details about the curatorial process, the selected works, and how they dialogue with the ideas of modernity, postmodernity, and their contemporary critiques.
