INTERSECCION – Contemporary Audiovisual Art Festival is a space of visibility for innovative audiovisual female creators that aims to show the formal and conceptual diversity in the panorama of contemporary artistic and audiovisual practices, serving as a reflection of its current dynamism.
It is also a meeting point, a space of current thought to produce knowledge and synergies among artists, researchers, curators, critics, programmers, institutions, and all those involved, as well as the general public, who will be able to experience this type of art in an easy and accessible way, thanks to the presence of the artists and other professionals with whom they can discuss the pieces, ask questions, and resolve any type of doubt or inquiry during the extensive planned discussions.
In the 2023 edition, this proposal addresses the body as a traumatic site, but also as the epicenter of artistic creation and of the gaze, from which narration arises and where, ultimately, all types of imaginaries flourish, drawing from the intimate, the violent, from what moves us, hurts us, and somehow makes us think and change. The body in relation to the world, in relation to other bodies, continuously traversed by stigmas, fears, affects, and metamorphoses, is the connecting thread that unites all the works that make up this proposal.
