We invite you next Wednesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at our Teatro MAMM to a concert of Colombian Andean music with the group SERESTA, who celebrate 30 years of musical career and the release of their new album.
In the repertoire, you will be able to hear pasillos, joropos, and bambucos that are part of our musical heritage, such as: Bacata by Francisco Cristancho, Patasdilo by Carlos Vieco, Liborina by Alfredo Mejia, Bochicaneando by Luis Uribe Bueno, and Saltando matones by Jose L. Perilla.
About SERESTA
A Colombian instrumental music ensemble formed by four professional musicians with extensive careers nationally and internationally.
Their first album was nominated for the “Latin Grammy” Awards in the category of Best Traditional Folk Music Album in 2001.
They have performed in the country’s main venues, including: the Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango, the Sala Luis A. Calvo in Bucaramanga, the Teatro Metropolitano in Medellin, the Teatro Colsubsidio and the Teatro Jorge Eliecer Gaitan in Bogota, and other equally important venues in the cities of Pasto, Cali, Ipiales, Manizales, Armenia, Quibdo, Cali, Monteria, Leticia, Buenaventura, Honda, and Cucuta. They have represented the country in the United States, El Salvador, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Spain, Germany, and South Korea.
