An image always retains the moment of its birth and remains tied to the history of its origin. But in every image there are also other possibilities: resting destinies, potential escapes, unforeseen drifts, unthinkable secrets that can be released, and release us. This program brings together four films that start from the same archive (the Shub Archive) to refound their images and let out the unspoken secrets that rest within them. “84” (2020) and “La noche del minotauro” (2023) accompany two new commissioned works by Simon Velez and Marta Hincapié: “La muerte de un piloto” and “Susurros”. A program that warns us that beneath the visible surface of every image lies a mystery, and the promise of its revelation.
