David Herrera / 2025 / Colombia / 71 min.
In the heart of an Embera community, a 13-year-old girl is forced by her parents to marry a teacher, but shortly after she vanishes without a trace. Morelia, the first woman to rise as governor among her people, sets out to find the girl with the strength of someone who carries justice in her blood. As she unravels the secrets buried under the weight of traditions, Morelia walks a thin line between heritage and change, confronting not only the rejection of a patriarchal culture but also the ghosts of her own history.
After the screening, a conversation will take place with the film’s director, David Herrera, and the lead actress, Morelia Cuñapa.
