Tai Chi and Qigong session: meditation in movement

INSCRIPCIONES CERRADAS

Tai Chi is an ancestral art with numerous benefits for health. It is based on Qi Gong (Chi Kung, as it is pronounced), Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and internal Chinese martial arts. Although Tai Chi is considered one of the styles within the enormous Kung Fu family, today it is practiced worldwide as an effective technique of “meditation in movement” whose goal is the care and training of the circulation of vital energy, or Chi, which promotes the proper functioning of the body and, consequently, of life in general.

Learning Tai Chi and Qigong involves light physical activity, where smooth, slow, and continuous circular movements are performed, combined with moments of balance, postural alignment, relaxation, coordination, concentration, relaxation, abdominal breathing techniques, and mindfulness. Tai Chi and Qigong can be practiced at any time and place, alone or accompanied, standing, sitting, or walking. It is very simple and enjoyable. You just need to bring comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, soft-soled sneakers, and hydration.

This introductory class will include a Qigong component, where we will learn the 1st movement of the “Ba Duan Jin” form or “the eight pieces of the silk brocade,” and we will finish by performing a complete Tai Chi sequence called “The Chen Style Form 9,” developed by master Chen Xiaowang.
