On this occasion, he establishes a dialogue with visitors by intervening in the Museum’s hall with fluorescent adhesive that reads: Ocúltalo en mis ojos, a phrase inspired by Goya’s painting La gallina ciega, questioning the manifestations of reality in the social and political sphere, beyond truth and lies.
Visual artist from the Instituto de Bellas Artes de Medellín (1998-2002) and Master in Visual Arts from the Fundación Universitaria Bellas Artes de Medellín (2012-2015) with experience in teaching, experience design, and pedagogical processes through art. He believes in art as a powerful tool for the transformation of people, their lives, and the way they relate to society. As an artist, he seeks a relationship between ideas and the image and its multiple possibilities.
He coordinated the education program of the 44th Salón Nacional de Artistas and the XII Salón Regional de Artistas; he has been a professor at institutions such as the Fundación Universitaria Bellas Artes, the Centro Colombo Americano Medellín, Circo Momo, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, and the Mayfield Arts Centre in Cork, Southern Ireland. As an assistant, he has had the opportunity to support artists such as Álvaro Barrios and is one of the founders and co-directors of the alternative space Taller 7 in Medellín until 2016.
He currently works independently. Since 2005, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows in Medellín and Bogotá at spaces such as Galería El Museo, the XII Salón Regional de Artistas and the 43rd Salón Nacional de Artistas, at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, the Chamber of Commerce of the same city, and the Banco de la República in Manizales, among others. Outside the country, his work has been exhibited at Galería LDF in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Xaltemba Gallery, Nayarit, Mexico; the Colombian Consulate, New York, USA; Art encounter – dream project in Cork, Ireland; and Galería Miss China, The Beauty Room, Paris, France. He has received various mentions for his artistic work and has participated in publications such as Pintura Colombiana Contemporánea and Kinetoscopio magazine.
