Exposición: biblioteca. Museo de Antioquia
Artista: Caio Reisewitz
Library is the latest and most expansive collage experiment by Brazilian artist Caio Reisewitz (São Paulo, 1967). Parallel to his larger-format photographs of Baroque and Modernist architecture and the natural landscapes of his native Brazil, for which he is best known, Reisewitz has been exploring collage for about ten years. His early works, small and intimate, created by layering photographs on paper or directly on the computer using Photoshop, have expanded into large-scale panoramas. Using digital images printed on adhesive, which he cuts and pastes directly onto the wall, he creates a free-flowing composition, inspired by the photomontages of Hannah Höch and the collages of Kurt Schwitters, among other artists of the Dada movement, where the juxtaposition of different elements creates a discordant sensation, a rupture in the image plane.

The exhibition presents the work of 26 Colombian artists and photographers from different generations. From traditional genres like portraiture and landscape photography to experimental and research-based practices, the exhibition explores how contemporary artists using photography and its expanded forms perceive and experience the diverse and ever-changing cultural, social, and political landscapes of a country marked by 60 years of armed conflict. The works are grouped into four thematic axes: nature-culture; identity-representation; place-territory; and history-memory.
This exhibition is part of the Colombian Image Encounter.

This exhibition presents the work of 17 photographers from Medellín whose work is beginning to emerge on the local scene. It is a group show of artists who use photography as a fundamental part of their creative process. The core of the exhibition is based on photographic pieces, but it also includes sculptural and video projects. The techniques range from traditional processes like collodion to contemporary digital techniques, as well as experimental approaches that move away from formal conventions and collage. In addition to the visual, artistic, and narrative quality of the works in this exhibition, their emerging nature stands out, resulting in elements of originality and novelty that appeal to the public.
